Kontact is very much the area of Karnival that goes seemingly un-noticed, yet is arguably the most impacting and rewarding for any volunteer, Exec or Rep. Each year Kontact aims to touch the lives of local causes in the East Midlands, and even further afar. Our annual Appeals Fund sees local charities apply and recieve over £3,000 each year (based on 2011 figures),whilst our trips allow those less fortunate than ourselves to have access to experiences they would otherwise not have the opportunity to complete. This year Kontact has taken local school children to White Post Farm, the Zoo, and taken a group of widowed over 60's to the Space Centre and shopping in Leicester city centre. In addition to this large scale events such as the annual Kontact Games for the disabled, and the Christmas Sherry Party, provide proof that being involved in Karnival really can touch people's lives and brighten their day.
